Subor

Entity Information

Zhongshan Subor Educational Electronics Co., Ltd. (中山市小霸王教育电子有限公司), or simply "Subor" (小霸王), is a hardware manufacturer based in Zhongshan, China. The company was founded in 1987 when it began producing clones of the Nintendo Famicom. As their name suggested, they are also responsible for producing "educational" products, mostly in the form of Famicom systems shaped like keyboards, or keyboard peripherals for the Famicom, to be used in conjunction with software such as English language tutorials. More recently, they have produced systems in the style of the Nintendo Wii (but not compatible) such as the iSports. Many of these more recent systems tend to be bundled with software produced by Waixing, suggesting some kind of relationship between the two companies.

Duan Yongping became the CEO of Subor in 1989, overseeing the company's growth to becoming China's leading manufacturer of game systems and educational computers. He departed from the company in 1995 to found BBK Electronics.
