Turbo mode

For turbo mode, enable shortcuts and enter the character selection screen. Hold Start and press an attack button to select a character. Continue holding Start and select a handicap and level with an attack button. Release Start after the match begins. For turbo mode in a two-player game, hold Start on both controllers until the match begins.

Fight as Dr. Doom

To fight as Dr. Doom, complete and save the game under the default settings. Turn off the "Shortcuts" option, then enter the character selection screen. Press Down, then press Down again and hold that button. Quickly press and hold A, B, then C in that order so that Down, A, B and C will all be held on the controller. The words "Captain America" will be spoken, but Dr. Doom's face and name will appear.

Fight as Thanos

To fight as Thanos, complete and save the game under the default settings. Turn off the "Shortcuts" option, then enter the character selection screen. Press Up, then press Up again and hold that button. Quickly press and hold Z, Y, then X in that order so that Up, Z, Y and X will all be held on the controller. The words "Spider Man" will be spoken, but Thanos' face and name will appear.

Fight as Anita (Japanese version)

To fight as Anita, first enable the "Fight as Dr. Doom" code by completing and saving the game under the default settings. Turn off the "Shortcuts" option, then enter the character selection screen. Press Down, then press Down again and hold that button. Quickly press and hold A, B, then C in that order so that Down, A, B and C will all be held on the controller. The words "Captain America" will be spoken, but Dr. Doom's face and name will appear.

You then need to enable the "Fight as Thanos" code by entering the character selection screen again. Press Up, then press Up again and hold that button. Quickly press and hold Z, Y, then X in that order so that Up, Z, Y and X will all be held on the controller. The words "Spider Man" will be spoken, but Thanos' face and name will appear.

Now, ensure the "Shortcuts" option is turned off. Enter the character selection screen with the default controller settings, then press Up, Right, Down, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left, then Up, then quickly press and hold X, Y and Z in that order. Anita will appear as a selectable character.

Disable vs. mode power gems

To disable gems in vs. mode, press L and R on controllers 1 and 2 before the match begins. The phrase "No Gems" will appear if the code has worked.

Random character select

To fight as a randomly-selected character, hold Left or Right until the pointer begins moving quickly at the character selection screen. Press any button to select a random character.

Alternative costume

For an alternative costume, turn off the "Shortcuts" option, then hold Up (if your character is in the upper row) or Down (if your character is in the lower row) for approximately three seconds and press any button at the character selection screen.

Continue fighting

To continue fighting after the match ends, hold L and R together after the last round of the match has ended. Alternatively, press Start immediately after winning the match to continue hitting the defeated character.

Throw pumpkins

To throw pumpkins, use a reality gem, then press L and R together.

Psy-Locke - 17-22 hitsJumping Short Kick, Jumping Strong Punch, Jumping Forward Kick, Standing Jab Punch, Standing Short Kick, Crouching Fierce Punch, Super Jumping (after launcher) Jab Punch, Super Jumping Short Kick, Super Jumping Strong Punch, Super Jumping Forward Kick, Butter Fly super (QCB+3 kicks).Her first three hits must be done while jumping toward the opponent. To get the maximum amount of hits, tap the buttons on the super that ends the combo. This combo only works on Juggernaut, and Hulk.
