Invincibility

For invincibility, hold Diagonal Down/Right on controller 1 and button 1 on controller 2, then power on the system with these buttons still held. Release all buttons after the R-Type logo has appeared. If the cheat has worked, you will be invincible when game play begins.

95 Continues

For 95 continues, first enter the sound test by sweeping the Directional PaD in an anti-clockwise (counter-clockwise) direction until the countdown clock stops at the continue screen. Release the button to enter the sound test. Now, hold Left and 1 on controller 1. The number 00 will change to 95. Press Left and 1 again to bring the number back by 1. Continue doing this until it gets back down to 00, then press 1 until the countdown resumes. Sweep the Directional Pad in a clockwise direction and the credits will count up. Then, press 1 before the counter gets to 00.

10-13 Continues

To gain between 10 and 13 continues, sweep the Directional Pad on controller 1 in a clockwise direction when the continue screen appears. The number of continues you get depends on how fast you do this.

Sound Test

For a sound test, sweep the Directional Pad in an anti-clockwise (counter-clockwise) direction until the countdown clock stops at the continue screen. Release the button to enter the sound test.
