Level select

For a level select, press Diagonal Up/Right and Run at the title screen, then hold Select and press Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, Up, Left, Left, Down, then II within approximately four seconds.

More monsters

To move monsters, hold Diagonal Up/Right and II and press Run at the title screen. Keep the buttons held until the "Normal / Vs" screen appears. A different scream will confirm correct code entry. Then, quickly hold Select and press Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down, Right, then II.

All monsters

For all monsters, hold Diagonal Up/Left, I and II on controller 1 and Diagonal Down/Right, Select and Run on controller 2 at the title screen. Alternatively, highlight "Vs Mode" at the mode selection screen, then hold Diagonal Up/Right, Select and Run on controller 2 and Diagonal Down/Left and II on controller 1. With those buttons held, hold I on controller 1.

Monster select (player 2)

For a monster select for player 2, press Diagonal Up/Right and Run at the title screen, then hold Select and press Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Up, Down, Up, Down, Right, then II within approximately four seconds.

High speed mode

For high speed mode, press Diagonal Up/Right and Run at the title screen, then hold Select and press Up, Right, Up, Right, Up, Right, then II within approximately four seconds. Alternatively, hold Diagonal Up/Right and II and press Run at the title screen. Keep the buttons held until the "Normal / Vs" screen appears. A different scream will confirm the code has worked. Then, quickly hold Select and press press Up, Right, Up, Right, then Up.

Unlimited specials

For unlimited specials, hold Diagonal Up/Right and II and press Run at the title screen. Keep the buttons held until the "Normal / Vs" screen appears. A different scream will confirm the code has worked. Then, quickly hold Select and press Down, II, Down, Up, Down, II, Down, Up, then II. An "X" will appear at the top-right of the screen if the code has worked.

Fight previously defeated bosses

To fight previously defeated bosses, hold Diagonal Up/Right and II and press Run at the title screen. Keep the buttons held until the "Normal / Vs" screen appears. A different scream will confirm correct code entry. Then, quickly hold Select and press Right, Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, Up, Left, Left, Down, then II.
