Site History

Work began on Console Database in September 2000 and the site was uploaded in mid December 2000 under the name of "Dale's Game & Console Database", being hosted with Myqth (Excelland free hosting). In four months, the site reached over 1000 visitors and was number 2 in the top gaming sites at Myqth. Unfortunately, Excelland disappeared in April 2001 and all Myqth free sites disappeared from the web. A few weeks later, though, this site returned as "Console Database", being hosted at Retrofaction.

A new, easy to navigate, user friendly (suits all latest browser versions and screen resolutions) site design was introduced to the site in early 2004. In September 2004, Console Database permanently moved to www.consoledatabase.com.

The Database continues to grow with more information and more sections added to the site all the time. The user base is continually rising as well, with tens of thousands of unique visitors from over 150 countries having visited this site.
