Established October 3 1988, Sichuan Changhong were formerly known for its military telecommunications products. They are now China\'s largest manufacturer of televisions and have been so for several years now. However, in more recent times when the demand for TVs has decreased, Sichuan Changhong has moved into manufacturing other electrical items including air conditioners, batteries, PCs, WebTV products and more recently, talks of manufacturing video game consoles. A factory is currently being set up in Russia as the company expands and hopes to make their products more widely available. Talks with various manufacturers are underway for the production of their new console which they hope will provide good competition for Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.
