Carmageddon 64
Game Review
The main problem with this game is trying to control it the first
time you play. The controls are so responsive and the car so fast,
it can take a lot of getting used to. But once you have mastered
these controls, the game will become very fun.
The original idea of Carmageddon (The PC game) was to race around
the streets running over innocent people. This idea caused so much
uproar because if its senseless violence and so the people were
changed to zombies. In the game, you must race others around the
track and score more time and credit by smashing up other cars,
running over zombies and performing stunts like flipping your car
(which isn't too hard to do since the intensity of crashes in this
game are exaggerated) and landing back on all four wheels.
The graphics of the game are not the absolute best that you'll
see on a Nintendo 64, but are still okay. It seems they have mostly
concentrated on gameplay when they programmed this game. The sound
and music is excellent and well-suited to this game, but perhaps
a larger variety of songs would be better. The game can be quite
challenging - you must race hard to get to the finish line in time
and sometimes the track can be hard to follow. You'll be sure to
get a lot of play out of this game.
