Wrecking Crew
Game Review
This strategy game is fun and challenging. The idea is to control
Mario and demolish every item on the screen to get points. Sound
easy? Well it is in the early stages, but later, you must think
before you act. Sometimes you need to climb a ladder before you
destroy it, or else you will miss items on higher levels and have
to restart the level. There's also the fact that there are monsters
following you around and those fireballs from Mario Bros. Also,
there is the foreman, Spike who gets in the way, especially in the
bonus round. In this bonus round, a coin has been hidden under an
item. You must demolish the right item and find the coin before
Spike does.
Appropriate colours have been used, however, like many early NES/Famicom
games, the background is plain black. The music is pretty good,
better than some other games of this time. The music in the bonus
round is especially funky. Simple sounds have been used, typical
of early games, but suitable. You'll probably get a lot of enjoyment
out of this game, but with not much variation in the levels (which
keep going on and on) you'd get bored after a while.
