Nintendo GameBoy Evolution
Console Information
So far, Nintendo has not released much information
about its next wave of consoles, and the GameBoy Evolution is no
exception.
The next console in the GameBoy series is said to
have a flip-top "clam shell" design similar to that of
the GameBoy Advance
SP. Games for the system will come on mini discs, instead of
cartridges, and it is likely to be backwards compatible with the
GameBoy Advance
(and possibly GameBoy)
games, however, probably won't feature a cartridge port for those
games. Instead, an external device may be used to download the games
off cartridges to a hard drive on the system.
Graphics are said to be of 128-bit standard, and better
than those seen on the Sega
Dreamcast. Bluetooth wireless networking will be built in and
the system will have a lit screen, like the GameBoy Advance SP.
The GameBoy Evolution won't be available til sometime
in 2006.
