Extra Lives and Shields

Go to the Options screen and highlight the music selection. Then, press LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, RIGHT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, then RIGHT. Extra lives and shield options should now be available. Alternatively, press LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, then RIGHT after highlighting the music selection at the Options screen.
