Start in 1875

To start in 1875, you first must enter a password. Hold A and B together on the title screen to display a password menu. Now enter this password: Fluxcapacitoristhepower and press Select and Start to enter.

This cheat requires the Game Genie cheat device.

Hint: Accessing rooms

If you find a room that is too high to reach, go back in time and plant an acorn under the entry. After returning to that spot in the future, a large tree should be there that is suitable for climbing.
